As it comes to the last year of Manning's rookie contract, Giants has not decided on his new contract. Manning has to wait a little longer than expected.
Manning and the Giants has not reached any agreement on the new deal, but no one is worrying about that. Both sides expect and beleive that a deal will eventually get done.
Manning is asking one of the most lucrative contract in NFL history, and the Giants know the price will be high, but they just do not want Manning to become and free agent and probably play for other teams even if he plays out his contract, they will just keep the Giants tag on him next March to prevent him from going other teams.
"Obviously we want him to spend the rest of his career here, and we'll reach an agreement in due time," Mara said. "But I can't guess when that will be."
Manning also said that he does not care about the time much since there is still 1 year left on his current contract. He is just waiting.
