The first-round draft pick Brandon Pettigrew just impressed everyone in the Detroit Lions organization enough in minicamp, before he has the chance to block in full pads in upcoming training camp.
Pettigrew made a couple of outstanding plays as a receiver, making a leaping catch downfield -- "I think he went up about 12 feet to catch that one,'' said Lions head coach Jim Schwartz -- and he also went to the ground to catch a pass in the end zone during a goal-line drill. He did not consider putting on jaguars jersey ever.
Schwartz often consider Pettigrew to be important in the offense, not only because it's a vital position for blocking in the running game, but because he's such a big target.
