Losing two streak games after starting the season 13-0, the New Orleans Saints are under pressure. People are worrying that they may lose the season finale against the Carolina Panthers and got to 13-3. The fans who love Saints jerseys a lot fear that their unbeaten team will slide on. And as the head coach of the team, what is in Sean Payton’s mind now?
“The one thing we do know is a factor is injuries,” Payton said. “We know that that is something that you have to be mindful of.”
Indeed, what always matters is who’s able to play. The worries, the statistics and the eager to restore some momentum, all are uncertainties. The certainty is the healthy players are better than injured ones. Payton plans to learn from their experience in 2006, when the Saints were locked into the second seed in the NFC and pulled their starters early in their final regular season game, which also was against the Panthers. Although losing the game 31-21, the team managed to beat the Philadelphia Eagles in a home playoff game two weeks later.
So, before the playoff, all what we can do is to keep expectation with the Saints.
