Rex Grossman, former Bears QB, took a physical with the Texans on Thursday afternoon.
Dan Orlovsky, former Lions QB, arrived Texans in February and signed a three-year, $9.15 million contract with a $2.4 million signing bonus on March 1st.
The two will compete for the No. 2 quarterback job in Texans, as Matt Schaub’s backup.
Grossman's agent Drew Rosenhaus told reporters that he was trying to finalize a one-year deal between Grossman and the Texans.
Three years ago, Grossman started the Super Bowl for the Chicago Bears, and he was not re-signed by the Bears after Kyle Orton took his place as the starter during last season. He turned to the Texans because he wants a position which can bring him chance of playing, and Texans' starter Schaub missed 5 games in each of his 2 seasons and former backup Sage Rosenfels was traded to the Vikings this offseason.
Even if Grossman failed to get the No. 2 quarterback job, he will still be able to take the job of No. 3 QB.
